"Error: Invalid data" - when signing in with Google or Apple

This article is relevant if you see the following message when trying to sign in with Google or Apple:


If you are trying to restore progress from a different phone

You can try restoring your account with the following steps:

On your old device:

  1. Check Google Play or the App Store to confirm you have the newest version of the game installed
  2. Open the game with a good internet connection
  3. Make sure you are connected with Google or Apple and play some battles so your progress is synchronized with our servers

On your new device:

  1. Check Google Play or the App Store to confirm you have the newest version of the game installed
  2. Open the game with a good internet connection
  3. Initiate the process to connect with Google or Apple
  4. If things went well, you should now see the option to restore your other account

If you are reinstalling after uninstalling the game

Your progress might be lost in this case. You can still link the progress in your current installation with your Google or Apple account:

  1. Check Google Play or the App Store to confirm you have the newest version of the game installed
  2. Open the game with a good internet connection
  3. Initiate the process to connect with Google or Apple
  4. In the popup that appears (the one that led you here), choose to keep your current progress
